Shofiqur Rahman was attacked by members of the Bangladesh Chhatra League with the intent to kill him. During the assault, he suffered a severe blow to the nose, causing extensive bleeding. He required surgery to repair the damage. In addition to the facial injury, Shofiqur sustained wounds to various parts of his body,
including his ears, legs, hands, and chest. Although he has since recovered, he bears scars across different areas of his body, and his nose remains slightly crooked,with visible changes from its original appearance. He was gravely injured in the attack. Shofiqur Rahman experienced chest pain and felt physically ill. When the doctor
advised him to undergo an ECG test, he took a picture after the test was completed.
